2019年2月23日讯/生物谷BIOON/---在一项新的研究[1]中,美国研究人员通过将4种合成核苷酸与4种天然存在于核酸中的核苷酸相结合,构建出由8个核苷酸(也称为碱基)组成的DNA分子(他们称之为hachimoji分子),而且这些DNA分子的形状和行为都像是真实存在的东西,甚至能够被转录为RNA。他们说,这些hachimoji分子的信息存储容量是天然核酸的两倍,因而可能具有无数的生物技术应用。相关研究结果发表在2019年2月22日的Science期刊上,论文标题为“Hachimoji DNA and RNA: A genetic system with eight building blocks”。
