[Abstract] Private speech has an adaptive function in the self-regulation of children’s behavior.Piaget and Vygotsky had conducted researches on the phenomenon many years ago. This paper mainly introduced the theories and opinions of the two psychologists on private speech, the current research tendency of it,and its implications on education.
