Abstract:ObjectiveTo study the effects of Semen ziziphi spinosae decoction on sleeping states.MethodsPolysomnography was used to record the changes of EEG and EMG in rats in different sleeping states, and the influences of Semen ziziphi spionsae decoction on them were observed. ResultsAfter intragastric administration with Semen ziziphi spinosae decoction(17.5 g/kg crude drug) for 7 days, TST and SWS2 were increased in free-moving rats, but SWS1and REMS had no significant changes. ConclusionThe decoction of Semen ziziphi spinosae can prolong TST of rats, selectively increase SWS2 and has no obvious changes in REMS, indicating it has few side-effects.
