【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the effects of 24h sleep deprivation on human function and to observe the feasibility of a fatigue questionnaire to evaluate subjective fatigue.Methods Computerized tests of visual simple reaction time and cursor tracing,ratings of perceived exertion(RPE) and a fatigue questionnaire were measured in 12 male medical students before and after 24h sleep deprivation.Results Delayed visual simple reaction time,increased cursor tracing deviation and more severe subjective fatigue complaints were recorded after 24h sleep deprivation.Conclusions 24h sleep deprivation may induce decreased psycho-motor ability.Desirable reliability and validity of a fatigue questionnaire were shown in this tentative study.
